(This article describes the manner in which the notion of desire shapes Historia Apollonii Regis Tyri, a tardo-latin romance inspired on a Greek theme and a popular text all along the Middle Ages. First, it describes the erotic desire represented in the text (father and daughter’s incest), and then, how this desire determines romance’s architecture. It concludes that Historia is an epicurean artifact created to provide high doses of pleasure.)
